Based on the IEEE Technology Megatrends 2030 forecast, it is possible to formulate key concepts of the changes that will lead to the development of science and education in the fields of electronics, photonics, and cyber‑physical systems. The main direction of change is the transition from isolated disciplines to end‑to‑end intellectualization of hardware platforms.
The main recommendations for science and education can be formulated as follows:
- multidisciplinarity as the standard for a specialized department;
- a transition from “theses and research for the sake of publications” to research for real industrial implementation and validation.
- the prompt use of flexible qualifications – micro‑courses on the ethics and safety of AI, the safety of CFDs, and cybersecurity in all STEM fields;
- against the backdrop of the availability of AI assistants, a deep understanding of mathematics, physics, and systemic critical thinking is required both among students and academic and teaching staff, as well as among administrative and management personnel in educational institutions.
